Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the most common beta problems. Still stuck? Email info@omniadataanalytics.com with your Windows version, app version, and whether privacy mode was enabled.
No audio in recordings
- Check Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone, and confirm desktop apps may access the microphone.
- Confirm the correct input device is selected in the app's capture settings.
- For meeting audio, make sure system-audio capture is enabled — recording only the mic will miss the other participants.
Cloud transcription isn't working
- Check that privacy mode is off — privacy mode intentionally blocks all cloud AI.
- Confirm you're online and signed in; cloud AI needs the MyNote Genie backend to be reachable.
- Check your monthly Grok-hour usage — cloud AI pauses when the limit is reached.
Offline / privacy-mode transcription isn't working
- Install a local Whisper model from the app's settings — privacy-mode transcription requires a downloaded model.
- Re-validate the model from settings if the install was interrupted.
Installer blocked by SmartScreen
The installer is signed by Omnia Data Analytics LLC, but SmartScreen reputation may still be warming up during beta. After verifying you received the installer directly from us, choose More info → Run anyway.
Where is my data?
All local app data — notes database, recordings, Whisper models, settings, and logs — lives under %LOCALAPPDATA%\EchoNotes. Uninstalling the app intentionally leaves this folder in place; delete it manually if you want a clean slate (export a backup first).
Reporting a bug
Email info@omniadataanalytics.com with: what you did, what you expected, what happened, your Windows and app versions, and whether privacy mode was on. Don't include passwords, payment details, or private meeting content.
