Known Issues
Rough edges we know about in the current beta. If you hit something not listed here, email info@omniadataanalytics.com with your Windows version, app version, and whether privacy mode was on.
Installer & first run
- SmartScreen warning. The installer is signed, but Microsoft SmartScreen reputation may still be warming up during beta. If you see "Windows protected your PC", choose More info → Run anyway after verifying you received the installer from us.
- Legacy data folder name. App data lives under
%LOCALAPPDATA%\EchoNotes(the app's original codename) rather than a MyNote Genie folder. This is intentional for beta-data compatibility.
Cloud AI
- Backend required. Grok transcription, Ask, and read-aloud need the MyNote Genie backend to be reachable. If it isn't, the app surfaces an error and you can switch to privacy mode / local Whisper.
- Usage limits. Cloud AI stops when your monthly Grok-hour limit is reached; local features keep working.
